Rhoda Gilman, who was among the founders of the Green Party of St. Paul and the 4th Congressional District, was nominated by Amber Garlan, a fellow Green, as Ramsey County's "outstanding senior citizen." She received the award on July 17, the closing day of the Ramsey County fair. Her name will join those of other county-selected senior citizens in a Minnesota-wide competition at the state fair.

The Green Party of St. Paul stands with the over 12,000 nurses from 14 Twin Cities hospitals that have voted to strike tonight. Nurses are standing up for safe staffing levels, better patient care, and protecting their hard-earned pensions. If hospitals can afford to continue to give huge bonuses to well-paid executives, they can afford to treat their patients and front line workers with dignity and respect.
At its monthly meeting last Saturday the Green Party of St. Paul and the 4th Congressional District approved the following resolution by consensus. It is in accord with the spirit of the the party's "Vision for St. Paul," developed in 2005.

The Green Party today declared its support for students of Central High School and other members of Youth Against War and Racism (YAWR) in their demand that military recruiters receive no preferred treatment at St. Paul public high schools. While recognizing that the federal No Child Left Behind Act makes it almost mandatory for schools to admit military recruiters, the students ask that the military, like college and job recruiters, be restricted to the school's Career Resource Center.
The Green Party of St. Paul voted unanimously on October 7 to endorse John Loban in his run for soil and water commissioner from District 4. The district, which includes all of St. Paul west of Rice Street on the north and Robert Street on the south, is now represented by MaryJane (Rachner) Reagan.
Today the Green Party of St. Paul unanimously endorsed Elizabeth Dickinson in her race for mayor. Twenty voting members agreed that Dickinson represents the positive values of the Green Party and voted also to support her with the maximum allowable contribution from the party¹s treasury. They were cheered by a number of visitors and newcomers who attended the meeting.
