After meeting an initial fundraising goal, the 4CD Green Party hired Rick Mantley to work as a local issues watchdog for the metro. Jesse Mortenson has donated web development and design work.
MetroWatchdog seeks to build an active constituency of metro residents contributing to better public policies and community practices in our cities. The Twin Cities metro is full of grassroots groups and non-profits with ideas for making our home more sustainable, more just and more democratic.
Our goal is to support these efforts by mobilizing a constituency of people like you, who are willing to pick up the phone or write an e-mail to demonstrate the broad support for these ideas. We bring relevant, local-focused action alerts to you so that you can chip in with proud support of good ideas, or vocal opposition to bad ideas.
While many important ideas and solutions have been suggested at the national or international level, we believe that local action is the basis for improving the broader society, economy and political structure. MetroWatchdog focuses on local government and neighborhood institutions.
